Out of curiosity …
.. and because we teach Kiwi culture and explore subjects such as moko (facial tattoo), beauty, war and nationalism, we’d like to know more about Ceasar the NZ war dog. We know that dogs were used to rescue wounded soldiers from ‘No- Man’s-Land at the Battle of the Somme during the First World War, but we’re not sure about the origins of this ‘British Bulldog’ depicted with a moko and a hei tiki on the collar.
