As a parting gift to the History programme at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington, Professor Charlotte Macdonald has created a History Master’s scholarship in the name of a woman with a colourful life story.
Charlotte has pledged $15,000 to launch the Charlotte Badger MA Scholarship in History. The scholarship will be named after a woman who was known as a burglar, convict, mother, pirate, and adventurer and will help to grow critical scholarship support to enable a student to pursue postgraduate study in history.
Charlotte’s commitment to fostering academic curiosity and her passion for history has inspired many of us over the years. Now, she is inviting us to stand with her in making a meaningful contribution to the future of our field. She invites former students, staff, and history lovers to join together to match her $15,000 gift and enable a scholarship to be offered at the end of 2024 for study in 2025.
Can you make a contribution to the Charlotte Badger MA Scholarship in History today?
Your support, no matter the amount, will make a difference. Together, we can create a scholarship that honours Charlotte Macdonald’s outstanding career and ensures a curious, deserving student can continue to explore our ever-evolving and intriguing histories.
I hope you will join me in helping to grow the impact of Charlotte Macdonald’s gift today.
Thank you,
Kate Hunter
