Panel Seminar: ‘125 Years: Are we there yet?’

To commemorate 125 years of women’s suffrage, WORD Christchurch in partnership with National Library of New Zealand and Royal Society Te Apārangi have assembled a panel of extraordinary New Zealand women to discuss how far we have come since women were granted the vote, and how far we still have to go in the fight for gender equality.

Participants include pioneering human rights activist Georgina Beyer, historian Dame Anne Salmond, musician and writer Lizzie Marvelly, head of Aotahi, the School of Māori and Indigenous Studies at the University of Canterbury Sacha McMeeking, and Paula Penfold, consulting journalist on Stuff’s #metooNZ investigation.

This discussion is being chaired by Kim Hill.
