There is concern that the preventable and irreversible loss of heritage buildings is occurring in New Zealand. The Ministry for Culture and Heritage is undertaking an assessment of New Zealand’s system for protecting heritage buildings to inform work on how their system could be enhanced.
To help inform this assessment, the Ministry for Culture and Heritage is consulting with stakeholders i.e. organisations involved in identifying, managing, advocating for, and protecting heritage buildings. They want to hear your views on how heritage buildings are recognised and protected in New Zealand, and how their protection system may be improved.
